WHAT PROBLEMS DO GEESE CAUSE
Canada Geese are not a friendly species and can cause an opportunistic harm to you, your family, and visitors. Because they can’t easily hide when threatened, they resort to aggression to ward off danger. One goose can produce 1 1/2 lbs of poop in just one day. Leaving your property amok and unavailable for leisure and enjoyment.
Canada geese are a valuable natural resource that provides recreation and enjoyment to the general public throughout New York State, Connecticut and other surrounding areas. But in recent years, flocks of local-nesting or "resident" geese have become year-round inhabitants of our parks, waterways, residential areas, and golf courses. Too often, as flocks grow, they cause significant problems such as:
-
over-grazed lawns
-
accumulations of droppings and feathers on play areas and walkways
-
public health concerns at beaches and drinking water supplies
-
aggressive behavior by nesting birds
-
instigation of unwanted weed growth on well maintained properties
